ohhh the sister in law just kicked my butt for no post!

LOL she is mad i did not post for today… don’t worry I am still alive! Its been a full weekend.

Friday: David’s gum got swollen and has been having tooth pain on and off all weekend.

Saturday: on the way to shopping i step on the the number 15 buss and who do i see.. my old friend and neighbor! she my driver today Her and her 3 boys lived next door a yr ago for a few months. I have missed her a lot and her boys. So before I got off the bus she said she is coming to pick me up at 5:00 for dinner! /happy dance.
Got my eye test done. Wow, she gave me this look and said “you are JUST barely legal to drive”.. lol well its a damn good thing i don’t drive then hu i said.. i laughed out loud at the look of relief on her face. I can read up close fine enough, she wanted to do reading glasses too but i really do not want to have two glasses to keep track off. It was a pain free experience UNTIL she did the drops to make your pupil HUGE! the first drop she tells me ” this should not hurt at all unless you are one of the weird ones”.. i am by the way then the next ones.. the second she gives them to me she says “ya these ones will hurt a lot” OMG the top layer of my eye was BURNED OFF! no wonder she waits until after the drops are in! Ok then i picked out some frames, i have descent enough insurance. they covered up to $60 so at the end i payed $9 LOL. They should be in next week at some point… hopefully next Saturday when DAVID goes in .. i didn’t mention the second drops to him LOL
ya.. now im blind tho because my pupils are huge and the SUN IS BLINDING ME! Thank god the winco was right across the street. So all i had to do was navigate one major street half blind from the sun and half from the stream of tears…. NOW if i were smart and not vain i would have wore the lovely glasses they game me.. but i didn’t. This was a interesting shopping trip LOL.
When i got home David’s tooth was worse and I finally told him that i could just invite her in for coffee, i don’t have to go out to catch up with her…. I don’t think he was up for company tho so decided that dinner out was ok.
She had to work late, some phyco got on her buss.. she brushed the story off to fast but i let her. We went to Applebees and had a YUMMY dinner! I love there club sandwiches, the bbq sauce on it is sooo good! I have to not be a flack now and keep in contact with her, i am very bad at calling

Saturday night: Dans cough wakes me up… i tried the trick i read about on the web. I put vicks on his feet and put socks on him. a few minuets later he settled down and was not bothered by it anymore…. weird hu???

Sunday: First thing this morning.. 6:30 david ran up to freedys with Emily to get the new guitar hero 3 game for the ebox. so between his time on the couch being miserable he is playing that non stop!
I had been planning on becoming a member of my church today. I did the members class last Wednesday and they told us that we will have to come up after one of the services to say we want membership… /SCREAM i am not good going up in front of crowds. I have been so nervous about this but very excited. I wanted to talk to the pastor Tom before hand tho to make sure that today was ok.. Thank goodness I asked! They ended service different this week. they were showing gratitude to the staff this week, so i will be waiting until next week.
Now I am home, Dan’s cough comes and goes but he has the rosy cheeks of ” I am sick” and Emily has been falling asleep like 3 or 4 hrs early every night the last 3 nights but not showing any signs of being sick other then that.. Davids mouth is swollen and hurts, he thinks hes getting sick of fighting off the infection so he fills like crap…….. And in the midst of all this, My damn shoulder is still a knot of painful muscles and its up my neck and down the other side… and with $ 2.22 in the account, so no calling the doctor to try and get some help that way i guess. SHIT
Gary just dropped Keith. They went to a Halloween party at his aunts house last night so I’m sending him up early to bed to make sure he gets enough sleep! I was complaining about my shoulder and lack of funds and he offered to cover the copay.. shit how can i hate you when your nice /kicks a rock… So i will be calling my dr. after all. God all i want is ONE DAMN muscle relaxer to make it stop!!!!

friday shopping

It’s Friday and you know what that means? SHOPPING LIST TIME!

oh ya i get all excited over the silliest stuff. Lets see about a year ago when money got extremely unbelievably tight we started doing a budget and i had to come up with a food allowance… what the heck is that! At this time i was going once a month to the large food mart and doing are major shopping, spending about $300 and then weekly going to fred meyers for are weekly needs that was another .. well ended up getting up there because of all the other fun stuff at Freddy’s so id say $100-$140 a week… oh boy… thats a lot. $700 – $900! were was that money coming from !

Wow.. what do i do now.. how were we finding the money for that? wellll i was just shuffling stuff around every week i guess, pushing stuff to next week, over to next month.. blah. Well we found are self in a spot were we had to account for every penny and try to breed them! So how was i going to get control of the shopping ? we had to eat! So i did what i love to do , i surfed the net WOOT! I looked up frugal stuff, and money stuff, and shopping stuff and you know what the common two things were? #1 make a weekly menu
#2 make a shopping list from that menu….
oh.. hmm.. decide what we are going to eat a week ahead of time? WTH! i love the last min OMG WHAT DO I DEFROST! How will i come up 7 meal ideas? BAH!

It took me a few weeks to be able to do this… it sounds easy but you try to figure out what your going to make your family next Friday! Well i eventually got.. so so at it LOL a year later and i still have issues with it, but now i try to go off what is in my pantry and freezer to plan meal, and i have made a master list of the family’s top 10 foods for emergency ideas! And it helps that they love potatoes and eggs so just about once a week we have that LOL great menu filler and pretty easy on the budget.

so NOW i have a menu, and have a shopping list for the dinners… and go to the store and realize OMG what about breakfast? lunch! COFFEE! lol well like i said it took a while to get this right . I don’t generally make a menu for breakfast or lunch but i have a short list of the stuff they like the most and try to have a few of them on hand.

So now the menu is DONE, and i have an idea of the weekly beverage, lunch and breakfast items we will use. I make the list of everything i think we will need … but … i never payed attention to the prices before? not really… some stuff i had a general idea of what was normal but what was the normal price for ground beef? i don’t know i just grab that package there.. you know THE ONE WITH THE COW ON IT! oh man!

Back to the store i go, armed with my list! I try to get only what is on my list but.. well some things looked really good and .. others ..well we might use them! I fill i have done a pretty darn good job as I’m checking out and bagging my goodies, until hi have to pay… 200? ! How can this be! ok ok so i pay and go home and scratch my head ….. after i compare my list to what i actually bought i realized i had better get better at sticking to the list!

Well lets cut it short. a year later we are in better shape but i still make a menu and a shopping list and NOW i can stick to it. I know what we need for lunches and breakfast and coffee… ohhh yes can not forget that! If i am wanting to be tight with the money i can spend about $80 a month but other wise i know allow my self $140 and that covers TP and personal hygiene stuff and if i spend that much i always am buying extra stock stuff to roll over into the tight weeks.
